End of Season Storage of Service Assistant and Accessories



For those who are done with the cooling season and are not using the Service Assistant to diagnose Heat Pumps in heating mode, it is time prepare your Service Assistant for storage during the winter months. To store you Service Assistant please follow these directions. It is important that you backup (copy) your applications to the SD card before storing your Palm pilot. Due to the way Palm pilots work, your batteries will drain even though the Palm pilot is turned off. Once the batteries drain, you will lose everything that is not backed up.

  1. Successfully Sync data to server using SAOnline. Syncing will ensure that all settings are correct before documenting information and backing up application to the memory card.

  2. Write down your SyncName and password. You can find your SyncName and password on the back of your palm or on the SD card. It is always a good idea to keep an extra copy of this information handy.

  3. Copy Applications to SD card.
    1. Turn on Palm
    2. Tap on the time in the upper left corner of the main screen.
    3. Tap copy in the drop down menu
    4. Change setting to "copy from handheld to card"
    5. Select "SaOnline" and tap "copy"
    6. Select "ServAsst" and tap "copy"
    7. Tap "Done"


  4. Write down your username and password for www.serviceassistantonline.com
    1. UserName: _________________
    2. Password: _________________


  5. Remove the batteries from Service Assistant and relieve pressure from the system.

  6. Gather Service Assistant and accessories and store in a warm, dry, and secure location.
