- Start with a reasonably clean pipe.
- Adjust the cord lock to provide adequate tension to hold the sensor securely against the pipe. You must adjust the cord length BEFORE attaching the sensor to the pipe.
- Install sensors at 4 o'clock. Seat with the sensor's curved surface squarely against the pipe. Stretch the cord around the pipe and hook the cord onto the sensor clip.
- Wrap the insulating band around the sensor pulling tightly around both sides to prevent airflow across the sensor.
-
Wait 6 to 10 minutes for unit to stabilize and sensors to equilibrate to the pipe's temperature. Unit should be in steady state for a valid test. This takes 10-15 minutes
from the time the unit turns on.
