Technical Bulletin:
Proper installation of Temperature Probes

  1. Start with a reasonably clean pipe.

  2. Adjust the cord lock to provide adequate tension to hold the sensor securely against the pipe. You must adjust the cord length BEFORE attaching the sensor to the pipe.

  3. Install sensors at 4 o'clock. Seat with the sensor's curved surface squarely against the pipe. Stretch the cord around the pipe and hook the cord onto the sensor clip.

  4. Wrap the insulating band around the sensor pulling tightly around both sides to prevent airflow across the sensor.

  5. Wait 6 to 10 minutes for unit to stabilize and sensors to equilibrate to the pipe's temperature. Unit should be in steady state for a valid test. This takes 10-15 minutes from the time the unit turns on.
